Spend the day in the backcountry of Algonquin Park. This tour is 8 hours in length and will take participants on a canoeing adventure on a meandering creek where wildlife usually is plentiful. We will take a water taxi to our location and spend the day on the water. There will be plenty of time for one-to-one instruction.
For those who:
- have a digital camera (DSLR)
- have an interest in canoeing
- looking for an opportunity to paddle in the backcountry of Algonquin Park and see wildlife
- want to work on their photography skills
Itinerary: We’ll meet first thing in the morning lake-side to meet the water taxi. The afternoon will be spent paddling a canoe around one of Algonquin’s pristine creeks using the photography skills you have. It’s a great way to work on aperture, shutter speed and ISO, and get some awesome shots of your new friends canoeing in Algonquin Park or hopefully a moose, maybe some otters.
Experience: this workshop is for all levels. Both beginners and advanced photographers will enjoy the adventure.
Endurance: We’ll be paddling in a canoe all day. Moderate canoeing skills will be beneficial, but not required. There are no washrooms in the backcountry. You will need to land your canoe on shore and practice no trace/cat holes.
What’s included: canoe, paddle, PFD (personal flotation device/lifejacket) and safety kit. Course materials. Park day pass.
What’s not included: Lunch, snacks/water. Accommodation.
What to Bring: We’ll spend the morning learning outside at a picnic area. You’ll need to bring a chair, warm clothing/blanket, snacks/lunch and water for drinking. Sunscreen, hat, rain gear. Bring a tripod and your camera manual.
