Hellooo! I’m Cobi.
An adventurer, mama, runner, and solo paddler.
A professional, award-winning photographer with my work featured in:
- Canadian Geographic
- Explore Magazine
- Outpost Magazine
- Outside Magazine
I’ve been at this photography thing for over a decade. It all started when I moved to the Yukon in 2012. I was living in one of the most incredible places, but stuck with the most mediocre images from lack of experience and knowledge. But, it’s where my passion for photography began. I actually took my first award-winning photo at the beginning of my journey along the Alaska Highway! Everywhere I looked was awe-inspiring landscapes, wildlife and culture. When I moved back to Ontario, that’s when I took my first photography workshop.
I’m a graduate with honours in Digital Photography and Imaging.
My passions are canoe tripping, Mother Nature, houseplants, and exposing my children to as much outdoor time as possible.
EVEN MORE ABOUT ME:
Sourdough keeper
Love the smell of campfire in my hair
5k, 8k, 11k runner
Advocate for body size acceptance and diversity (pro-fat liberation, every body outdoors)
I have a 6-year-old and 2.5-year-old
Core Values
Women-centred: I strive to create a supportive and championing learning environment for women (inclusive of trans and non-binary individuals, and of all ages) that allows for growth, a sense of adventure, and a desire to learn something new.
Adventure: I offer the opportunity for an element of adventure (hiking or canoeing) so women can try something new or adventurous while learning to use their camera.
Environment: I believe it’s important to support organizations who are the defenders of Mother Earth; those that support land conservation and healing. With the purchase of a workshop, you will also be making a small donation to an organization who’s work is essential to protecting our environment and the places we love to photograph.
Photography: While encompassing the 3 values above, I offer the opportunity to learn out in the field with one-on-one assistance to help implement the photography skills being taught.
