June 10, 2023

Limited to 9 participants | $275/person | lunch included

Spend the day learning how to take your images to the next level. Bonus: learn how to use the basics of Adobe’s Lightroom for editing.

For those who:

- have a digital camera (DSLR) and are shooting in Manual mode
- have watched and taken online workshops but still have questions
- ready to start shooting in RAW (or already are) and want to learn how to edit images using Adobe’s Lightroom

You will:

- learn how to see and create a good composition
- focus metering methods, and what you should use and when
- learn how to understand white balance and its importance to images
- learn to read your camera’s histogram
- editing and cataloguing techniques using Adobe’s Lightroom
- get a handbook with notes on everything that the course covers

Itinerary: We’ll meet first thing in the morning inside and go over instruction with time to work on exercises. After lunch, we will spend a couple of hours hiking one of Muskoka’s scenic trails using the composition skills you learned. We’ll meet back inside and learn how to edit our images.

Experience: this workshop is for intermediate levels.

Endurance: Participants should expect an easy-moderate level of activity (with some difficulty when we’re climbing on a trail to a lookout). It’s a 3km trail.

What to Bring: You’ll need to bring hiking shoes/clothes, snacks and water for drinking. You should dress appropriately for the weather. In June there could be rain, bugs, humidity or sunshine. There are washrooms at the classroom. A backpack/camera bag will be helpful. Bring a tripod and your camera manual. Laptop with Adobe’s Lightroom installed for editing.
