What Others Are Saying:

A Triple Threat Experience "I’ve attended several photography workshops in the past, but none of them compared to the one I experienced with Cobi Sharpe. Unlike other instructors who knew their cameras but couldn’t teach, Cobi was a triple threat: a great teacher, a skilled photographer, and an amazing human being. With 30 years of teaching experience, I recognize quality instruction when I see it, and Cobi exceeded my expectations. Her ability to break down complex concepts into understandable steps and her genuine passion for photography made the workshop both educational and inspiring. I left with a deeper understanding of my camera, a portfolio of beautiful photos, and a renewed excitement for my photography journey."

A Perfect Blend of Learning and Adventure "Joining Spark Adventure Photography’s workshop in Algonquin Park was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my photography hobby. Cobi Sharpe is not just an instructor but a mentor who genuinely cares about her students' success. The workshop combined fundamental digital photography techniques with hands-on exercises that solidified our learning. The afternoon hike to a stunning summit provided the perfect backdrop to apply our new skills. Cobi’s patience and willingness to answer every question created an atmosphere of camaraderie and learning. I returned home with not only new skills and beautiful photos but also new friends. I highly recommend Cobi’s workshops to anyone looking to advance their photography skills."

Itinerary: We’ll gather at the crack of dawn (actually 9am) and dive into the bewitching world of manual settings with time to work on exercises. The afternoon will be spent trekking around one of Ontario’s most eerie places, Midlothian Castle/Screaming Heads in Burk’s Falls using the skills you learned. It’s a great way to work on aperture, shutter speed, and ISO, and get some awesome shots of your new ghoulish friends hiking through the property.

Personalized Instruction
"As someone relatively new to digital photography, I was apprehensive about joining a workshop with more experienced participants. However, Cobi’s one-day workshop in Algonquin Park was perfectly tailored to accommodate all skill levels. Her ability to provide clear, individualized instruction ensured that each participant could build on their own knowledge and skills. The day was thoughtfully organized, from workbook exercises to a delicious lunch, followed by practical application in the breathtaking scenery of Algonquin Park. I left feeling more confident in my abilities and eager to continue learning under Cobi’s guidance."

Endurance: Participants should expect an easy-moderate level of activity. Beware, this journey might just awaken your inner adventurer.

What to Bring: We’ll spend the morning learning outside. You’ll need to bring warm clothing, hiking shoes for the haunted trails, a chair, snacks and water for drinking. You should dress appropriately for the weather. In October there could be sun, rain, or even a ghostly chill. There are washrooms onsite. A backpack/camera bag will be helpful. Bring a tripod and your camera manual (it's your spellbook for the day).

What’s included: Course materials.

What’s not included: Lunch, snacks and water. Accommodation.

PLEASE NOTE: A minimum of 4 participants is required for the workshop to proceed. If the minimum is not met, you will be notified and given the option to reschedule or receive a full refund.

10% of your workshop fee will be donated to Midlothian Castle/Screaming Heads.
