Capture the Uniqueness of Flowerpot Island!
Step into the unique and interesting landscapes of Flowerpot Island, home to towering rock formations, crystal-clear waters, and rugged shorelines along Lake Huron. This beginner-friendly photography workshop is designed for women who love nature and want to elevate their creativity behind the lens.
✔️ Learn to compose striking images of the island’s iconic flowerpot formations
✔️ Learn camera settings to bring out texture, light, and depth
✔️ Reconnect with nature in a screen-free, immersive experience
By the end of the day, you’ll walk away with practical photography skills, newfound confidence, and a collection of stunning images that truly capture the spirit of this unique island.
Itinerary
The first boat shuttle to the island leaves at 9:50am. On the way we’ll see an underwater shipwreck, lighthouse, Fathom Five tour, and a view from the boat of Flowerpot Island. We will get started as soon as we get to the island and learn the fundamentals of photography with plenty of hands-on practice. We break for lunch around 1pm. The afternoon we work on photographing in manual, and talk about how to connect with your subject to photograph it authentically, and tips for creating good compositions. We wrap up around 5pm. The boat shuttle will pick us up at 5:40 and finish the remainder of the scenic cruise on the way back to Tobermory.
Experience Level - Amateur to Intermediate
This workshop is for those who are photographing in auto mode and semi-auto modes like, aperture priority.
Activity Level - Moderate
Students can expect moderate activity with the hiking trails.
What’s Included:
Course materials.
Photography education (compositions, photography education).
Park pass.
Boat shuttle fee.
What’s Not Included:
Transportation to Tobermory.
Trip insurance.
Meals and beverages.
Accommodation.
